Whiskey in the Jar

So I've been writing like mad. Fifteen to seventeen pages a day for the past two weeks. Today I was going to shoot for twenty-plus pages, because I took the day off work to attend my favorite event of the year, the Michigan Irish Music Festival, (To see me in action at the MIMF, click here, and here), but I have yet to sit down with my little writing computer.

I'm just too psyched about this weekend.

So after I found this song online, I made this video instead.

Enjoy.

The limericks were great, too! Now why haven't you posted your limericks on your blog before?! :)
Have fun this weekend drinking your irish ale!
(and glad to hear your firing off pages like a madman. I need to revise my WIP like a madwoman soon...)

Nicely done. You did that song well - it's one of my favorites, that and Black Velvet Band.

You'd LOVE Ireland. It is a magical place in every way possible. It's my favorite place on Earth.

I work this weekend. That's why I'm not at the festival with you. Oh, and they're after me lucky charms!

Keri -- I found a video of the Dubliners doing this song, and lo and behold, there, beneath the video, was the lyrics and guitar chords.

Kelly -- Thanks. I don't think I'm doing the accent all that intentionally, either, I'm just playing it like I hear it. Good luck with your revisions.

KM -- I didn't realize you were a fellow Irish music fan. Between that, and having actually been to Ireland, you get 1000 cool points.

BJ -- You'll have to try to go next year -- I'll buy you a couple pints (they're magically delicious).

Nice job Ray. I'm a Pogues fan and first heard that song on one of their early albums.

Your limericks RULE!!! Seriously, thanks to you, I now like limericks. Don't think I ever had much feelings about them one way or the other before. And, I love your live performances. Makes me feel like an idiot that I haven't figured out how to do that yet... (the videotaping, I mean - instruction please?)

Yay, writing! Yay, singing. Boo that we missed the Irish fest. My husband goes whack a ding hoy for stuff like that.

Oh, crap, crap, crap!!!!! I missed the Irish fest. I remember you talking about it last year, and was all, "hey, that's not too far away from us!". Crap, crap, crap! I missed all the Guinness. :(

But, dude, AWESOME singing and guitaring (it's a word!) and go on with your bad self with the writing!

Frank -- Pogues? I'll have to look them up. If they're pretty traditional, they could be a group I'd like.

Angela -- Slowing down a little this week. Thirteen pages today, eleven yesterday.

Debra -- You're kind of giving me an idea. Assuming you have a digital video camera of some kind, I just might have to tag you for something.

Carrie -- Seriously, I would love for you and Slayer to come next year. It's an incredible weekened -- I promise.

Vivi -- Yes, you and that car guy too. Last year, I promised to buy a drink this year, remember? I'd love to pony up. (Although now we have to wait ANOTHER year)

This year was my first at the Irish Music Fest it was amazing. Quite the contrast from the night before when I went to see Gwar.

I loved hearing you play and sing. You'll never know how much I miss it.
